§ 648.60 - Sea Scallop Rotational Areas.

(a) Area I-Rotational Area—(1) Area I-Rotational Area definition. The Area I Rotational Area is defined by straight lines connecting the following points in the order stated (copies of a chart depicting this area are available from the Regional Administrator upon request):

(2) Season. A vessel issued a scallop permit may not fish for, possess, or land scallops in or from the area known as the Area I Scallop Rotational Access Area, defined in paragraph (a)(1) of this section, during the period from April 1 to May 15 of each year the Area I Access Area is open to scallop vessels, unless transiting pursuant to § 648.59(a).

(b) Area II Scallop Rotational Area—(1) Area II Scallop Rotational Area boundary. The Area II Scallop Rotational Area is defined by straight lines connecting the following points in the order stated (copies of a chart depicting this area are available from the Regional Administrator upon request):

(i) A vessel issued a scallop permit may not fish for, possess, or land scallops in or from the area known as the Area II Scallop Rotational Access Area, defined in paragraph (b)(1) of this section, during the period of November 15 to May 15 of each year the Area II Access Area is open to scallop vessels, unless transiting pursuant to § 648.59(a).
