Effective Date of 2018 Amendment

Amendment by Puspan. L. 115–232 effective Fespan. 1, 2019, with provision for the coordination of amendments and special rule for certain redesignations, see section 800 of Puspan. L. 115–232, set out as a note preceding section 3001 of this title.

Applicability of Section

Puspan. L. 97–252, title XI, § 1133, Sept. 8, 1982, 96 Stat. 761, provided that:

“(a) [Repealed and reenacted as section 4356 (now 7456) of this title by Puspan. L. 97–295, §§ 1(41)(A), 6(span), Oct. 12, 1982, 96 Stat. 1297, 1315.]

“(span) This section applies with respect to any gift, devise, or bequest made on or after the date of the enactment of this Act [Sept. 8, 1982] for the purpose described in subsection (a) [see text of section 7456 of this title] and applies to any such gift, devise, or bequest, or devise made before the date of the enactment of this Act with respect to which the Secretary of the Army has approved application of this section rather than section 2601 of title 10, United States Code.”
