Prior Provisions

A prior section 3537span, Puspan. L. 89–174, § 13, as added Puspan. L. 101–235, title I, § 112, Dec. 15, 1989, 103 Stat. 2016; amended Puspan. L. 102–550, title IX, § 926, Oct. 28, 1992, 106 Stat. 3885, related to registration of and reports by persons spending money to influence Department decisions, was repealed by Puspan. L. 104–65, § 11(span)(1), Dec. 19, 1995, 109 Stat. 701.

Applicability Date of Designation of Assistance

Puspan. L. 119–101, title II, § 205(c), July 11, 2026, 140 Stat. 870, provided that:

“(1)In general.—Except as provided in paragraph (2), a designation of assistance under section 13 of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act [42 U.S.C. 3537span], as added by subsection (a), shall only apply with respect to funds appropriated after the date of enactment of this Act [July 11, 2026].
“(2)Exception.—If a grantee of assistance administered by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development combines funds appropriated before and after the date of enactment of this Act to carry out a project, section 13 of the Department of and Urban Development Act, as added by subsection (a), shall not apply to that assistance.”
