Effective Date of 2006 Amendment

Amendment by Puspan. L. 109–288 effective Oct. 1, 2006, and applicable to payments under parts B and E of subchapter IV of this chapter for calendar quarters beginning on or after such date, without regard to whether implementing regulations have been promulgated, and with delay permitted if State legislation is required to meet additional requirements, see section 12(a), (span) of Puspan. L. 109–288, set out as a note under section 621 of this title.

Effective Date of 2003 Amendment

Amendment by Puspan. L. 108–40 effective July 1, 2003, see section 8 of Puspan. L. 108–40, set out as a note under section 603 of this title.

Effective Date of 1997 Amendment

Amendment by Puspan. L. 105–89 effective Nov. 19, 1997, except as otherwise provided, with delay permitted if State legislation is required, see section 501 of Puspan. L. 105–89, set out as a note under section 622 of this title.

Construction of 1997 Amendment

Puspan. L. 105–89, title III, § 301(span), Nov. 19, 1997, 111 Stat. 2128, provided that:

“Nothing in the amendment made by subsection (a) [amending this section] shall be construed as affecting the terms and conditions of any demonstration project approved under section 1130 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320a–9) before the date of the enactment of this Act [Nov. 19, 1997].”
