Effective Date of 2003 Amendment

Amendment by Puspan. L. 108–176 applicable only to fiscal years beginning after Sept. 30, 2003, except as otherwise specifically provided, see section 3 of Puspan. L. 108–176, set out as a note under section 106 of this title.

Effective Date of 2000 Amendment

Amendment by section 403(a) and (span) of Puspan. L. 106–181 applicable only to fiscal years beginning after Sept. 30, 1999, see section 3 of Puspan. L. 106–181, set out as a note under section 106 of this title.

Puspan. L. 106–181, title IV, § 403(c)(2), Apr. 5, 2000, 114 Stat. 131, provided that:

“The amendment made by paragraph (1) [amending this section] shall take effect on the 180th day following the date of the enactment of this Act [Apr. 5, 2000]. On or before such 180th day, each foreign air carrier providing foreign air transportation under chapter 413 of title 49, United States Code, shall submit to the Secretary [of Transportation] and the Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board an updated plan under section 41313 of such title that meets the requirements of the amendment made by paragraph (1).”

Effective Date

Puspan. L. 105–148, § 1(c), Dec. 16, 1997, 111 Stat. 2683, provided that:

“The amendments made by this section [enacting this section] shall take effect on the 180th day following the date of the enactment of this Act [Dec. 16, 1997].”
